A man cheats on his wife, when confronted, lashes out in anger and bitterness at the poor woman. A political leader confronted with evidence of corruption pounces like an angry tiger and locks up all critics. Or perhaps a pastor who is told his message is not according to the Word of God, labels such people as heretics.XtianDoctrinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09259559188896449906noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1254799220794829654.post-45518480330838165882009-09-02T10:20:26.726-04:002009-09-02T10:20:26.726-04:00Hello Akin,

It's very real to me and I struggle with it too.

Most of all what is to be feared is insidious anger and unforgiveness. The type that boils under the surface hidden from view only to rise like a phoenix whenever a triggering mechanism is pushed.

My Dad and I have never been close. When I was barely 7 years old my mum passed into glory and I went to live with my maternal uncle. You see my uncle and my Dad used to be best of friends. He, that is my uncle, was the match maker, the go between, responsible for their getting married in the first place. But my Uncle, for some reasons, blamed my Dad for my mum's death...that is a very long story in and of itself.....and as a result came to hate him. They've not seen eye to eye since the day my mum died.

It was under this cloud of bitterness and hatred that I grew up as a child. Everyday all I heard about my Dad was how evil he was and how he killed my mum, and stuff like that.

I did not realize how much of these fumes of hatred I've soaked in until much later in my adult life. To my dismay I found I've imbibed the hatred for my Dad too. I tell myself I don't hate him just indifferent to him that's all. But as a matter of fact I know it is much worse than that.

The triggering mechanism for me is a perceived abandonment of me and my siblings and a host of other stuff....again a long treatise. A few days ago I was talking to my brother and he told me I need to let go and move on.

Anger and UNFORGIVENESS are evil....they will eat you alive if not dealt with. I'm dealing with mine.Akinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18226554227772959243noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1254799220794829654.post-41194147691570238942009-09-01T07:59:42.296-04:002009-09-01T07:59:42.296-04:00I have had horrible experiences with anger with fa...I have had horrible experiences with anger with far reaching consequences.
